Welcome to another Brand Spotlight! Today we’re going to be looking at a new addition to the Bird Kids family; the fantastic Petra Boase.
Petra Boase is actually the name of the designer; an incredibly talented lady who graduated from Manchester University in 1991 with a degree in textiles. Since then, she has worked on 14 books about hobbies, crafts and decorations for both adults and children. You may also recognise her, as she presented ‘Change That’ for the BBC in the early 90’s.
It was in 2000 that she decided to create the Petra Boase range, starting with a few collage canvases and hand-made greetings cards. Original lines and new items were added and, 12 years later, Petra’s range is stocked across the world in some of the biggest boutiques and stores.
We’re really pleased to be added to the list of Petra Boase stockists, and we’re sure that you’ll love their gorgeous products. To start with, we’re offering a selection of greetings cards, Japanese paper balloons and paper bunting balls.
The greetings cards are a real specialty of Petra Boase’s, and some even come with fun little extras. For example, the tin badge cards come with, you guessed it, adorable little tin badges. I think they’re a great alternative to regular birthday card badges, as they can be worn all year round.
Other cards come with the Japanese paper balloons, which are also available to buy separately. These are simply perfect for decorating bedrooms, but can be deflated and reinflated as often as you like. Each one is based on a different animal and they’re all super-colourful and a lot of fun.
Finally, we have the paper bunting balls. These are available in three sizes and in a massive range of bright colours. Like the paper balloons, they can be folded flat to be reused again and again; they’re amazingly versatile! You can hang them separately, pile them in a bowl or even string a load together to create some really unique bunting.
